Self Cleaning/Disc Filter
With the self-cleaning design of the filter, you can expect an increase in production lines mainly because there is no stop in throughput due to blockages or a need to change strainer elements. The environmental-friendly filter works on the basic principle that the flow of the fluid is always from a high-pressure to a low-pressure zone. The two operation cycles in the system are the filtering cycle and the backwashing cycle.
In the filtering cycle, water enters through the inlet nozzle, passes through the filter elements and then exits through the outlet nozzle. In this process, contaminants are trapped on the filter element insides. In the process of filtering, backwash return pipe assembly can block the flow to one or more filter elements. The cycle is repeated till the system reaches the set differential pressure.
The backwashing cycle commences once the system reaches the set differential pressure. This then opens the backwash valve along with the geared motor rotation. The backwash pipe assembly is now successfully aligned under filter elements. The differential pressure between the system and the backwash pipe results in the opening of the backwash valve, which discharges fluid from inside the surface of filter elements and this results in cleaning. This process is then repeated on all the available filtering elements.
